Qualcomm has announced quick charge 5: 100W+ speed lets you fill a battery to 50% in 5 minutes.

Qualcomm has developed its technology over past years as first it comes up with quick charge 1x in 2013, Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 with 1.5x charge capability in 2015, Qualcomm quick charge 3.0 with 2.0x in 2016, Qualcomm quick charge 4.0 with 2.5x capability and comes the latest one quick charge 5.0 with 10x capability of charging the mobile phone users which can fill the mobile phone battery from 0-50%in just five minutes  it supports speeds of 100 Watts and more while keeping the battery 10°C cooler and it’s 70% more efficient to boot. this latest fast charge technology enables the user's to fast hand the down battery and process the mobile applications long.

With this act Qualcomm once again becomes the vulnerable competitor in fast charge technology in the field of mobile phone users. According to tests conducted by Qualcomm a 4,500 mAh battery can be charged from 0% to 50% in just 5 minutes. A full charge of such a battery will take 15 minutes.

Two charge controller chips Qualcomm SMB1396 and Qualcomm SMB1398 Supporting 1SnP and 2SnP batteries, wired and wireless input paths as these two chips are engineered to provide maximum efficiency above 98 percent. Finally, they can support higher than 20V input voltage operation to accommodate the highest power levels from both wireless and wired power sources and also Quick Charge 5 is optimized to take advantage of both USB-PD and Type-C technologies, addressing future Android requirements. Compatibility with industry standards like USB Type-C protocols also help users benefit from Quick Charge 5’s inherent scalability and expansion into additional devices.

Quick Charge 5 is currently sampling with customers and is expected to appear in commercial devices in Q3 2020. Quick Charge 5 is supported on Snapdragon 865, 865 Plus, and future premium- and high-tier Snapdragon mobile platforms. 

Qualcomm briefed customers that it's latest charge technology will hit the market in third quarter of this year.
